The Parcel F storm water management project is finally finished! The County planted the last two trees in there today and took down the black fencing. That’s one parcel down and two to go for County storm water management!

Parcel F Stormwater Runoff Project To Start 9Aug
After 3 years of working with Loudoun County on a resolution to control storm water runoff from Barnswallow Ct through Parcel F, reconstruction of the existing dirt channel is finally set to begin August 9th, 2021. This reconstruction will remediate, at no expense to Cardinal Glen homeowners, a longstanding problem our neighborhood has had with flooding and erosion in Parcel F. In addition, Loudoun County will assume responsibility for channel maintenance from the culvert behind 13 Barnswallow Ct to the culvert between 18 Coloma Ct and 200 Cardinal Glen Cir. (i.e. the entire length of the channel).

storm water management plan for the Parcel F swale announced
After 2½ years of working with the county on this, they have at last come back with a proposed design plan for retrofitting the existing swale. Here are the details:
- The county will retrofit and subsequently assume responsibility for the existing swale from top to bottom (i.e., the entire length, hurray!). We will consequently need to grant them a maximum 20-ft wide easement to do so (more about granting them this easement below). continue reading >>
