TAKE ACTION on Rt7 NOW!

Good neighbor Mike White reports that Loudoun County is proposing to limit our intersection to right turns only. We would only be able to enter the neighborhood from westbound 7 (right in), and could only leave the neighborhood going west on 7 (right out). Entering the neighborhood from eastbound 7 would require a u-turn at another intersection…read the details here in the 2040 Route 7 Corridor Study.

We strongly encourage everyone to contact the county board of supervisors to make your opinion heard. This will be a major topic of discussion at our next board meeting! All homeowners are encouraged to attend virtually.

African American Burial Ground for the Enslaved at Belmont

The cemetery of the enslaved at Belmont Plantation was rescued from the bulldozers at the southeast corner of the interchange of Rt 7 & Belmont Ridge Road.

Sycolin Cemetery

The preservation of the Sycolin Cemetery has been turned over to the Loudoun Freedom Center, as the Town of Leesburg donated the land they were given by the FAA.

barb says all the low branches in the front common ground should b pruned, otherwise the mowers will continue to break them:

that would also eliminate secluded areas, a safety issue. otoh, it would also open sightlines to route 7, increasing noise for the first line of houses…what do you think? please take our poll:
