The ruts cut by a neighbor off his meds, as well as nearly a foot of sediment filling the culvert, were restored & reseeded last month.

Briar Patch Park To Be Refurbished
Our district supervisor Koran Saines informs us that the Gwen Thompson Briar Patch Park will be closed for up to four months starting on Tuesday October 9. Given the extent of the project, County staff determined it would be better to complete it all at once, necessitating the closure.
The extensive construction project includes milling and resurfacing tennis and basketball courts, trails and the parking lot, replacing a retaining wall and fencing, replacing a playground and surrounding surfaces, repairing drainage areas and enhancing access areas. These changes will complete work that began a couple years ago to update the park. At the end of this project the park will be better and more enjoyable for Sterling children and families.
Community Discount For Trash Service
Your HOA is re-negotiating our Community Discount with American Disposal for twice-weekly trash pickup (and once weekly recycling) good until this time next year:
including fuel surcharges and any environmental fees.
New customers get 64-gallon trash and recycling bins.
This is an increase of $5.00 over last year’s rate. In order for new and existing residents to get this pricing, they should contact American Disposal on their website and state they are with the Cardinal Glen HOA and would like the Community rate. Or call their office Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at 703-368-0500 and request the rate. For existing customers, rates will go into effect on their NEXT billing cycle.
Remember, if everyone signs up with American Disposal, only 1 trash truck will wake u up;-)
Our Entrance Median
As a part of a state-maintained street, our entrance median is maintained by VDOT…but as we can’t wait for them to get around to it, we have our contractor, Green Village Landscaping, mow the grass;-)
And you may have noticed that only 2 of the original cherry trees that lined the media survive; the website’s header image
dates from 2002, but was taken before that;-} Most of them succumbed to root rot, due to piling mulch around the trunks, but the one on the inside end was mowed down when a car jumped the curb:-{ i have some pix somewhere;-}
