Come help us clear the “Parcel G” common ground path (see above) the 10 ft. wide thoroughfare for community use (dog walkers, hikers, school kids) that connects us to Seneca Chase.
Bring Clippers, Rakes, Shovels, Chain Saw, or just yourself!
Great turnout today! Along with Eric Single, who spearheaded the effort, Bob Sponaugle, who brought the issue before the board, we had help from Matt and Debra Bressler, Mark Lynner and Nick Puszert.
It took just over an hour to make it passable to wheeled traffic, and we got our first user just as we finished-)
Update: Got a couple good hours of prep work done today (suspect my volunteer force may be limited if it rains tomorrow!) Got to discuss the details of the project with Don Schleiden to ensure he was onboard (since it directly impacts his property/view.). Able to work out a clear pathway that should be wide enough for bike traffic without major cutting back of foliage. The result should be a usable pathway that maintains the woodland ambiance.
No major trees had to be cut. Tomorrow’s volunteer effort will focus on cutting up and bagging the limbs, removing 4 or 5 old stumps, and perhaps some minor widening in a couple remaining “tight” spots.
